Special Delivery
If you require your jewellery urgently, please contact us as we are able to arrange for Special Delivery (guaranteed next day) at an additional cost. This is of course subject to the availability of your choice of item(s).
Please note orders must be processed before 13.30 in order to guarantee next day delivery and the Post Office do not guarantee Special Delivery on a Saturday in every part of the country.
Guarantee and care of your purchase
We guarantee each of our items for 12 months from date of purchase excluding normal wear and tear. If an item is broken through no fault of design or manufacture (for example, it has been dropped, worn in water, put through a washing machine, discoloured by the use of hairspray or perfume, or pulled apart) the item will be replaced or repaired at the customer’s expense.
We would, therefore, advise you to avoid allowing your jewellery to come into direct contact with alcohol based products, such as perfume and hairspray, and advise removing your jewellery before swimming, bathing or showering. We recommend that you give your silver a polish every now and then with a silver polishing cloth. Please read the manufacturers instructions if using jewellery cleaning products.
Returns Policy
We do hope you will be delighted with your purchase from jemjem jewellery. However, if for any reason you are not satisfied or the item does not suit your requirements you may return the goods within 7 days of purchase and we will be happy to offer an exchange or refund, less deductions for postage and packaging. However under no circumstances are we able to accept the return of earrings in compliance with current health and hygiene regulations (unless incorrectly sent or faulty, see guarantee). This does not affect your statutory rights.
The goods must be returned in original condition, and be unused. When returning your goods we recommend that you obtain proof of posting, preferably using the same postal method by which the jewellery was sent. Unfortunately we cannot accept responsibility for parcels lost in transit nor can we pay for return postage.
In the unlikely event of you receiving a faulty or damaged item, please return it to jemjem immediately and we will of course offer a full refund or replacement. In this situation, we will cover the cost of return postage.
Refunds will be given using the same method by which the item has been paid.
Pricing
All prices are quoted in UK Pounds Sterling. Prices do not include postage and packaging but do include an organza bag for each item purchased. We reserve the right to change, without notice, any pricing in case of error or in the case of changes to cost of manufacture or materials.
Disclaimer
Many items are "one-offs" or limited editions and the item received will very likely be the actual item shown in the picture on our website. However, we use natural materials which are subject to variations in colour and natural form and therefore items purchased may vary slightly from those shown. We will contact you should a variation be significant. We take every care to ensure our photography produces images which accurately represent each item with respect to colour (and design) but the jewellery may vary slightly from the picture shown.
WARNING
Please note, our products contain small components that could put you or others at risk of choking if swallowed.
In view of the potential hazards, our jewellery is therefore unsuitable for children under 3 years old. Please take every care to ensure that you store and supervise the use of your jewellery appropriately.
Design Service
We are happy to create bespoke pieces of jewellery for something a little different or to match a specific outfit. This includes jewellery for brides and bridesmaids. We will also make alterations to items viewed on our website (subject to charges as appropriate) as well as make items to match existing pieces.
If you have had your personal colours assessed (e.g. with The House of Colour) we are able to make unique items in your seasonal colours and to suit your clothing personality subject to the availability of the items required.
Items can generally be made within 2 weeks of ordering, subject to availability.
Please contact us for a friendly discussion about your requirements.
Jewellery Parties, Coffee Mornings and Charity Events
Why not hold a jewellery party, coffee morning or charity event?
You provide the venue and refreshments and invite your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours.
We will bring our wide range of contemporary jewellery and our display equipment. You and your guests can view and try on our jewellery at your leisure and receive friendly advice on colours and styles.
As the host you receive 10% of the sales taken at your event to spend on jewellery for yourself, or alternatively, we will donate 10% of the sales from your event to a charity of your choice.
Please note that all events should be within a radius of approximately 20 miles of our premises in Watford, Hertfordshire, however we are happy to discuss exceptions.
Please contact us for further information via the contact page on this website.
Materials
Sterling Silver
All our silver items are made using sterling silver rings, pins, chain and clasps. Some of the larger items are stamped with 925 (i.e. 92.5% silver content) to indicate this.
Vermeil Gold
Vermeil gold is 4 or 5 layers of 22 or 24 carat gold over sterling silver. It is a very high quality alternative to solid gold without the added expense.
Silver from Thailand
This silver is hand crafted by The Karen Hill Tribe in Northern Thailand using silver with a higher silver content than is in sterling silver (typically 99.5 -99.9%). Their beautiful pieces are individually handcrafted and are inspired by nature including animals and flowers. These items are not hallmarked but we only buy them from reputable sources.
Silver from Bali
Balinese silver is exquisitely beautiful and is intricately handcrafted using high quality 925 sterling silver in Bali, Indonesia. All our items are supplied from genuine sources.
Murano Glass
We only use genuine Murano glass which has been handcrafted on the island of Murano (Venice, Italy) since the 14th Century. The glass, which comes in many soft and vibrant colours, is made on rods with many items being lined with sterling silver or 24K gold foil. Just ask if you don’t see the colour you would like – we may be able to help.
Leather
We use genuine high quality leather which softens with wear but still retains its natural beauty.
Suede
We use genuine fine suede in natural colours in many of our products. We also use a synthetic version (suedette) which looks lovely, wears exceptionally well and comes in many beautiful colours to complement the semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls we use.
Semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls
We use a large variety of semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls sourced from all around the world. Being natural products they sometimes contain slight flaws or defects. We always choose the best ones available. Some of the semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls we use will have been dyed to provide colours which would not be available naturally - this is typically true of the more vibrant colours.
Swarovski Crystals
We only use genuine Swarovski Crystals sourced from reputable suppliers. Swarovski began manufacturing in Austria in 1892 cutting crystals with extreme precision in numerous stunning colours and designs.
